a wing and a prayer ;
okay now that my promos are officially over im making good on what i told becca cheang. ive come to write out a good substatiative post.
haha its been so long. do you think that perhaps ive forgotten how to? lol. well in such a long period its not surprising that so many million things have changed and though i do so hate change i guess its inevitable. oh pooh.
promos have been horrendous. not that i studied really really hard. but yes its been oh so much worse no thanks to my unfaithful nose who just has to start leaking on me the day before my major papers start. its been running nonstop and im having a splitting headache just trying to keep up with it. roar. how irritating but oh who cares. all i know is that im going to do well enough to get promoted but disastrously enough to find myself in yet another one-on-one with ms de silva trying not to feel bad about my results. urghs.
highlights of the week:1.
leaving lit paper after 1 hr with the rest of the h1 students, leaving the poor h2 students in the hall for another 1 and a half hrs. goodness but that felt really good (: poor sam looked so alone as we all streamed past her out of the hall but its not like it was to our freedom.. we pretty much went from exams to our books. bio (oh
HORROR of horrors!) was in 4 hrs time and we all needed all the time we could get our hands on.
2.
sneezing
eight times during chem. oh and clearing my throat after highlighting each mcq question. there was this teacher standing in front of me and he kept staring at me as if he thought i was cheating. like puh-lease. as if i had the energy to think of cheating when all i could think about was focusing on my paper and getting it done properly. HAH. but yes. it was pretty funny when i thought about it later on. but the most fun came after chem (like duh.) when char and i went to sengkang library. there wasnt much of a selection there but we shared our favourite authors :D haha go read jean thesman and madeleine l'engle. and im going to lend char my laura ingalls wilder book series! and we're going to have bookswaps! ohmy ohmy i cant wait. AND THATS WHY YOU DONT LET TWO BOOKWORMS GET TOGETHER AND DISCUSS BOOKS hoho.

maths. its supposedly my pet subject. which is why ive never treated maths exams as exams. theyve always been pretty fun. but today. oh sheesh. i didnt know there was a last page! so i finished like 45 mins early and checked and rechecked my paper. but somehow i didnt realise i'd missed out the last two questions. which happily
had to be worth 23 marks in total. urghs just talking about it makes my blood boil. and it doesnt really help that i took my medication this morning. it made me super sleepy.

anyhow this next event happened right after math but its so much more happy (: so i shall split it into another pointer haha. we (samantha, yinxi, mel, char, glory, dave, darren and i; basically all the lit people except lynette, keewei and aloysius) decided to go down to outram to sks. and since im the one who 'introduced' the place i was supposed to lead them there! unfortunately for all of us ive only been there with my dad which also conveniently means that i was transported there in the breadloaf.
basically we went there to eat. but didnt know where to go. we went to this place called pearl centre. i tell you that name is a totally misnomer. that place in no way resembled anything pearly (eeeks!). we pretty much went into hyperventilation just laughing and laughing (to get over our culture shock - we had no idea there were places in singapore like that!). we ended up eating at a super duperly
ulu burger king on the 2nd level. to use glory's words: its so
ulu that they pre-prep the burgers and heat them up. yes.
to cut a long story short, after lunch we wandered around trying to get directions, got directions, overshot the bus stop by 2 more and had to walk back. when we finally got there i brought them to the kids side by accident. thought the adults part was upstairs so we went upstairs only to see a huge chunk of the building under renovation ('oh shucks! dont tell me i dragged them here only to find out its under renovation!' i was going through a mental breakdown i tell you). then i found out that it was actually one floor below the kids one. ('phewww' i breathed one long sigh of relief) yeah but things turned out quite well. i think all the trouble was worth it. i love that place! after that though we went to take pictures at a playground. haha we were all like little kids frolicking, laughing like nobodys business. it sure was fun.
which reminds me, i bought a book at sks today (: one of those ten dollar bargains. beams. cant wait to curl up in one corner and devour the book. haha its nice and long too. ahhhh now that promos are over theres so much awaiting! phase1 starts tomorrow. phase1 of my projectO. ahaha im loving this.

nice right? haha you dont have to agree with me. but i find it oh so cheery and lively. its such a great contrast to the dreary attitudes that've been bogging me down from all around (: amazing what a poem can do.
to all those taking their major exams:
jiayous! you guys can do it. all the way k? not much left. i'll be keeping you guys in my prayers. trust in Him for He is faithful. He will never leave you nor forsake you and thats His wonderful promise to all of us. its amazing aint it? lets stay forever in the warmth of His embrace. so yes.. persevere! run this race and look back with no regrets.
